By Alberto Arias –
Beneath the top hat and tie, the vivacious and vocal-centric appealing performer, Jessica Galan, dreams of stardom. A multifaceted artist, Galan, is a singer, dancer, and pianist. This soloist’s goal is to become a virtuoso of unlimited potential and tap into the fabric of musical grace.
See Video of Jessica Galan
Galan’s musical style is a unique dance/pop mixed with components of electric sounds and computer synthesized beats. Galan’s voice has a melodic and harmonic flow in each of her songs. Her vocals contrast depending on her lyrical tone, the mood of the song, and the beat her producer, Tsubasa Abe, lays down. As a creative artist, Galan wants to set herself apart and keep the origins of dance/pop with a concoction of other genres. Her song titles include “Curtain Fall,” “The Rouge,” “Creeper,” “Miss You Crazy,” and “Nothing in the World.”
“My goal in the near future is to compose a fusion of dance/pop, classical music elements and elements of jazz,” says Galan.
Her live performances include venues in fashion shows and clubs in hot spots throughout the Metropolitan area. Galan also choreographs her own eye catching dance routines, along with her hard working back -up dancers. Her dancing style is heavily influenced by her hero, Michael Jackson, with his robotic pop and gyrating body movements. She also adds aspects of ballet with pirouettes, splits, heel stretches, front walkovers, and fouettes. Along with that she writes her own music, designs her own costumes, and books her live shows.
“I’m living my life through my movements and I get caught up in the moment when I’m on the stage,” says Galan.
Galan’s live performances have a grasping effect on the audience as she sucks the air from the room with her breath taking on stage showcases. Her fiery performances have established her as having the “It” factor due to her stage presence and the control she has over her audience.
“When I’m performing I’m going through all these thoughts and all these emotions at the same time, I’m feeling the audience’s vibrations, seeing their different facial expressions, and it becomes almost surreal. It’s euphoric and there is nothing that can equal performing live on stage, “says Galan.
The North Jersey native was born with music thumping in her veins. Her father, Johnny Galan, is a Dominican born internationally renowned singer/ jazz pianist. He has been her mentor and driving force since the beginning of her musical career.
At the age of 8 she took up ballet, jazz tap, and acrobatics. At 14, she began to take piano lessons, at 15 she picked up the microphone and started to sing. A year later, Galan landed her first jobs as a model and make-up artist. Meanwhile, she was writing poetry which would later help her song-write for future songs. At 18, Galan began to professionally record her own original songs and cemented her love for music.
Along with her 15 hour plus weekly practices she also is a double major in English Literature and Early Child Education, as well as a minor in Classical Piano.
The exuberant Galan will continue to enliven audiences until she reaches her ultimate goal. Galan wishes to reach stardom one day and dreams of doing this through perseverance, hard work, and dedication.

With Jessica perhaps the less said, the better!… her art and being is, indeed, ineffable. Jessica not only has all these abilities, but the endurance which is the most difficult, and challenging. I applaud her endlessly…

Ms Jessica Galan, a very beautiful talented young lady full of ambition and desire to succeed!! I am very proud of you my friend!! It is very rare to find a person like this in these times, so dedicated to what she loves, which is music. She has the combination of her love for music but she does not forget how important it is to love music and share her talent with the world along with an education, & well educated because this lady is an honor roll student…. Isn’t it incredible how one can dedicate herself to her talents which are many, dancing, singing, piano, along with keeping up so great in school! It is very hard, but she does it and that what makes her even more amazing. I support you 100 percent!! Best wishes & success in your career!!Love you
