The gusty winds of the winter season have yet again compelled us to go inside of our closets and whip out that winter stash. But, just because you have to trade in those summer dresses and opened toed sandals for chunky Bill Cosby inspired sweaters and knee high boots, doesn’t mean that you can’t keep fashionably warm. It seems like the summertime is the easiest season, to maintain their stylish appearance for women especially. An often-overlooked area of the body, when dressing for the chilly weather is up top of our noggins. While it’s easy to remember the essentials, like a heavy-duty coat, boots and gloves and scarf, it can be quite a challenge to protect your desired hairstyle while trying to beat the frigid weather.
There are several trendy head accessories that do the job to keep you warm while adding flair to your winter “do. Multi-colored, satin or cotton hair scarves are a versatile fashion accessory that are timeless and can compliment any look. Ladies, on any given day that you wake up and styling your hair just doesn’t seem to be on your agenda for the morning, quickly grab a scarf and style it as you please. Scarves can be worn as hair accessories or they could even provide warmth as neck adornments. A very inexpensive accessory, scarves are normally sold at local clothing stores. But for about $5, anyone looking to purchase a scarf can do so, from those miniature flea market stands, which are usually located on the corner of almost every street in New York City.
Speaking of scarves, a rather popular style of wearing a scarf seems to be making its way back into fashion- turbans! Turbans are actually a kind of cultural headwear that are worn, very often by men, for customary purposes in areas like India, Afghanistan, North Africa and even parts of Jamaica. In 60’s and 70’s fashion icons like the late Elizabeth Taylor, Joan Crawford, and Faye Dunaway decided to start wearing turbans as a major fashion statement. Now, turbans are seen all over the runway for the elegance and polish that it adds to certain looks.
Beanies and tweed caps are a must for autumn and winter fashion. Tweed caps are a very easy, yet chic head accessory that goes well with any outfit. It is the easiest to style when paired with a simple pair of jeans, a casual top and maybe an attention grabbing, colored sweater. Tweed caps are a casual headwear that is normally worn by people in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Tweed caps accent any informal outfit very nicely- a perfect go-to piece in the winter, fall and even spring.
On the other hand, beanies are leather, silk or cotton drooping cloth hats with a button shaped top. Women with longer hair tend to be seen sporting this trendy hat just because of the space that hangs in the back of the hat where the hair sits.
Add a beanie to any look and it instantly adds a touch of mod to your style. So, to all of you fashion forward individuals, there is an endless array of super cute fashionably fall head adornments that are sure to keep you warm and stylish.
