I was happy to see an article in The Gothic Times by Tom Johanesson about the recent production of Les Miserables. The production was spectacular and all who participated are to be congratulated.
It was with some dismay that I noticed that Mr. Johanesson didn’t mention the orchestra. He mentioned the cast and chorus, and is to be applauded for mentioning the technical people behind the scenes who support a production like this.
Les Miserables is a Broadway show that is considered an opera because there is no spoken dialogue. The music is continuous throughout. The Music Director who prepared the student orchestra and the members of the orchestra are to be congratulated for their contribution to making the show a success.
