NJCU students and staff, alongside clubs and organizations such as the Student Activities Board, Student Government Association, Men of Color Initiative, Black Student Union, FELA (Federacion Estudiantes Latino Americanos), and various fraternities and sororities, came together to participate in a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at Liberty State Park.
This walk was to raise awareness about breast cancer and show support for those affected by the disease, while also promoting education and early detection.
The students got to meet breast cancer survivors, family members who lost their loved ones to the disease, and overall people who are in support of the cause.
Students completed the entire walk, carried breast cancer awareness-themed shirts, celebrated & danced on the stage, and joined multiple people in the community.
The energy at the event was one of solidarity and hope. As students marched through the park, they engaged in conversations about the importance of screenings and the role of health education. Several members of the participating organizations spoke on how breast cancer has impacted their families, motivating them to join the walk and spread awareness.
Overall, the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at Liberty State Park exemplified NJCU’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, inspiring students to continue advocating for important causes.
