NJCU softball faced Farmingdale State College on April 5 in a non-conference doubleheader.

In Game 1, the Gothic Knights earned two runs, seven hits and two errors. Gianna Benacquista opened the first inning with a single up the middle and advanced when Dayanara Flores singled. With an assist from Juliana Squeo when she doubled to left field allowed for Flores and Benacquista to score. There were only two players left on base by the end of the first. The team maintained a two-point lead until the bottom of the fifth inning when the Rams scored two runs and tied 2-2. Squeo was the only player to earn two RBIs in Game 1. On the mound, Christina Mezey collected four earned runs, five walks and eight groundouts. The Gothic Knights struggled to bring home another run after the first. The team lost 2-5 in Game 1.

In Game 2, the Gothic Knights collected three runs, seven hits and three errors. The team earned two runs in the first when Dayanara Flores stole second and advanced to third on the throw which allowed Hannah Gavin to score on an error. Juliana Squeo grounded out which allowed Flores to score. Squeo and Flores were the only players to receive an RBI in Game 2. At the top of the fifth, the Gothic Knights cashed in another run when Flores singled up the middle and Arianna Scrimo scored. There were three players left on base by the end of the fifth. The Rams maintained a five-point lead by the end of the seventh inning. The Gothic Knights lost 3-8 in Game 2.
