#NJCUBB Face Defeat Against Ramapo

NJCU Baseball challenged Ramapo College on April 13 for the final leg of a two-game series in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). The Gothic Knights loss their chance to bring home another win against Ramapo. The team collected two runs, five hits and three errors.

In the bottom of the first, Nick LoGatto doubled to left field and later stole third when Mike Ramirez walked. Dan Berardi entered the first and reached on a fielder’s choice which allowed LoGatto to score. Lenin Gomez was the only player left base by the end of the inning.

Ramapo gained leverage in the top of the fifth when the team was 9-1.

In the bottom of the seventh, Matt Corsi made an appearance at the plate and advanced to second on a wild pitch. The assist from LoGatto when he singled up the middle allowed Corsi to score. LoGatto was left stranded on first base. As the end of the game inched closer, Ramapo maintained 11-point lead in the ninth.

Anthony Zicaro pitched for four innings and threw a total of 53 pitches. He collected four groundouts, three earned runs, two walks and two strikeouts.

John Maino, Mike McLaughlin, Matt Corsi, Jason Rivera, Brandon Kuhl and Chris Bergalowski were fresh faces that replaced some of the starters from the fielding and hitting roster earlier in the game.

The Gothic Knights loss 2-13 in the final game of a home-and-home series for the NJAC.
