The Gothic Knights picked up a win during their recent home game, downing Fairleigh Dickinson 4-1 on April 9. The 3:30 p.m. game was moved to 3 p.m. due to rain in the forecast. Despite the rain, the game went on for nine innings before started it.

NJCU, 12-8 overall and 2-4 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, has won three games out of the six in April.

Anthony Zicaro was the starting and winning pitcher as he threw for eight innings and allowed one hit but struck out eight FDU batters. Zicaro he was relieved by John Pudder in the ninth.

Nick LoGatto tripled in first inning. Ricky Voss went 2-for-1 at the plate with a triple and one run. Tom Pulcine doubled as he drove in 1 run and 2 RBIs.

Jesse Kraft and Pulcine both deposited a sacrifice bunt.

The team received one error in the sixth which allowed for FDU to score an unearned run. However, a toss from LoGatto (shortstop) to Voss (first base) in the final seconds put an end to FDU’s hopes of scoring a run.
