NJCU Baseball challenged Ramapo College on April 12 for the opening of a two-game series in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). The team is currently 14-8 for the overall season and 4-3 in the NJAC. The Gothic Knights produced six runs, seven hits and one error.

Winning pitcher Mike Ramirez impressively threw a total of 142 pitches and was in for nine innings. He collected eight hits, four walks, 12 strikeouts and two earned runs.

Game leaders Tom Pulcine, Ramirez, Jesse Kraft and Juan Pena produced some shining moments in hitting while Jan Castellano, Lenin Gomez, Pulcine and Pena were successful in fielding.

The team drove in three epic runs back to back in the fourth. Bill Feehan reached on an error by center field which permitted Dan Berardi to score. Kraft singled to left field and Gomez scored. Castellano walked which allowed Pena to make the final run of the inning and score.

In the seventh, Berardi earned a walk and later advanced to second. The assist from a throwing error by center allowed Nick LoGatto to score.

At the top of the ninth the Gothic Knights cashed in two more runs and maintained a five-point lead. LoGatto flied out to center field which permitted Pulcine to score. A double to center field by Berardi allowed Ramirez to score the final run of the inning. The game went on until the bottom of the ninth and the Gothic Knights won 6-2.
